“…being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 1:6
Seven years ago, I arrived at Renewal North West knowing something in my life had to change. I didn’t have a clear picture of what that would look like, but I knew I couldn’t stay where I was.

What I didn’t realise then was that God had already begun a work in me.
Philippians 1:6 says, “being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Over time, I’ve come to understand that change isn’t instant—it’s intentional, shaped day by day.
I began as a van driver, learning the value of consistency, discipline, and simply showing up. It wasn’t glamorous, but it was necessary. From there, I stepped into leading house clearances, where responsibility increased and I was stretched in ways I hadn’t expected.
That season wasn’t easy. Leading a team with strong personalities brought challenges, and at times I found myself clashing with authority. It exposed areas in me that needed to change—patience, humility, and how I handled pressure. Looking back, those moments were uncomfortable but necessary. They revealed what needed refining.
Then came what I can only describe as a wise and well-timed move into the showroom four years ago.
That transition marked a turning point. Meeting people face to face, hearing their stories, and having meaningful, sometimes deep conversations changed me. What started as simple customer interaction often became something more—moments of connection that stayed with me long after.
Each day found its rhythm, and at the centre of it were the morning Bible times. Those moments became foundational; they shaped my thinking, strengthened my faith, and grounded me. My spiritual growth didn’t happen all at once, but steadily—and it began to influence every part of my life. That change didn’t stay at work. It followed me home. I’ve become a better husband—more patient, more present, more aware. The work God has done in me has been personal, not just practical.
The people around me have played a huge part in that journey. Working with different staff, learning from them, and supporting one another has created something far deeper than a typical workplace. The management team have been incredible—encouraging, steady, and willing to invest in people. Renewal North West has become more than a place of work; it’s been a place of transformation, belonging, and purpose.
There’s also been joy in the process. The sound of laughter echoing from Refresh Café is a reminder that even in growth, there is lightness. Change doesn’t have to feel heavy all the time—it can be full of life.
With greater responsibility has come greater confidence. There have been challenges, setbacks, and moments of doubt, but none of them have been wasted. Each one has contributed to who I am becoming.
I am not who I was seven years ago. The difference isn’t just in what I do, but in who I am. Because if God starts something, He completes it.
And in my life, that change is still unfolding.
