Every summer we take our staff, volunteers and their families, away to Ambleside in the Peak District for team-building activities. Over three days, our party of 25 took part in gorge scrambling, hiking, kayaking, paddle boarding, and abseiling whilst taking in some breathtaking scenery.
They were given plenty of time to explore their surroundings, socialise, eat good food and spend quality time with team members and family. Whether it was someone’s first Ambleside trip or their fifth, all who went on the time reported having an amazing time. As you can see in the pictures, even our CEO Wesley Downs got involved with the activities, and joked that he might still be abseiling when he’s 80 (if he can get insured, that is!).
The cost of the trip was completely covered by the charity, meaning that money was not a barrier to attendance. As a Living Wage Employer working with those who are financially disadvantaged, we are always looking for ways to reduce the financial load for our staff and volunteers.
